Introduction

Linetime is an app for planning your time using timers. You quickly create timers by typing in a special syntax. Timers can have notes, and you can re-arrange them by dragging the associated interval. Linetime keeps track of the timers and completed items for you so you don't need to juggle multiple apps.

Where are my notes stored?

Notes are currently saved in your browser's local storage. If you clear your offline data in your browser's privacy menu, your notes will be lost.

Timer Syntax

To create a timer make sure you are at the beginning of a line. Then, type the time you want to spend on that task in square brackets, followed by space:

Examples of valid intervals:

[30 minutes]
[1 hour and 20 minutes]
[200 seconds]

Make sure you're at the beginning of the line!

Rearranging Timers

To re-arrange a timer, click and drag the timer's interval(i.e. text like 25 minutes that appears to the left of the timeline). Then drop it inside of the document to the new place you want it to be.

Starting the timer

When you first add an interval, a button labeled start will appear at the bottom of your note. Press this button and it'll start the timer.

Timer Controls

The Timer controls are fairly straightforward and take their inspiration from video players:

Stop

Stops the timer countdown, resetting the time.

Pause

Pauses the timer countdown without resetting the time.

Skip

Marks this item as complete, and starts the next item.

Enabling Notifications

For Linetime to send you notifications, it needs your explicit permission. You can give Linetime this permission by clicking on the text "Enable Notifications" at the top of the document. Your browser will then ask you to confirm you want notifications.
